Isola di Fano rises on the strip of land between the Tarugo and Rio streams. This area of the Pesaro hinterland is rich with memories and trades related to agriculture, animal husbandry and craftsmanship.
Here, on July 1, 2020, we inaugurated Villa San Rocco, country house born from the renovation of an old farmer’s house, whose atmosphere can still be experienced by our guests. We have renovated the rooms whilst respecting and keeping to tradition, in a balanced harmony between rustic and modern style.
We gave named the Villa in memory of San Rocco. Over half a century ago, some inhabitants of Isola, who journeyed to the Tarugo, discovered a statue of the saint within the stream’s waters (a tributary of the Metauro river). Since then, it has been assumed he passed by, right through our land. Each year on August 16, Isola di Fano celebrates and remembers San Rocco, protector of wayfarers and pilgrims, sick and volunteers
Villa San Rocco – Live and Eat with Taste
The old stable of the bull mounting “ritual” is now the hall of our restaurant. We have unearthed the vaults of the ceiling and the pink stone of Cesane, Furlo and Metauro, which offers a fresh natural conditioning; the adjacent oven where bread was once baked for Sunday sales is still active and provides us with fragrant dishes.
The cellar for storing wine and vinegar has become a fully equipped kitchen and the old warehouse an annex, a spacious hall for ceremonies and birthdays, which discreetly separates the dining room from the swimming pool.
The counter in warm oak wood is at your disposal for extra drinks, at the bar area.
The structure was built between the first and second world wars, when tobacco was grown in Isola; it was later converted into a barn by the Villa’s owners. Restored and enriched with historical photographs, the drying room awaits you for romantic dinners, to be savoured by candlelight.
Our Services
Breakfast comes with two options. Homemade, based on cold cuts, pies and baked desserts, served within the structure and designed for families and those who wish a peaceful start to their day. Hikers or those who prefer a quicker meal can head towards the village, at the family kiosk, reachable by car or on foot, by walking for about 400 metres in the countryside, on the forest road that runs along the Rio stream.
Our class B swimming pool is free for guests of the rooms and of the restaurant to enjoy. It is especially suitable for families with children due to its size and depth of the water (1.10m in the lowest part, maximum depth 1.40m). All around, the spacious garden, irrigated by collecting rainwater, where you can use our sunbeds or lay towels directly on the grass, greeted by the centuries-old mulberry. We are gradually adding games for children, with the goal of creating an area dedicated to them.
Food and wines selected amongst the best local, national and international offerings. Large indoor dining room and the option of dining al fresco overlooking the enclosed garden, ideal for families and at the same time discreet.
For a small fee your pets will be welcomed in the buildings and can stay in the same room as you. Of course, customers of the restaurant can also be accompanied by their furry friends!
